D2R Valuable Items Reference
Sources:
Values most accurate at beginning of Ladder reset. Items fluctuate throughout seasons. “Ethereal” variants significantly more valuable on mercenaries. Perfect/near-perfect rolls required for hard-to-trade items to have resale value.
When to Use This Reference
ALWAYS check this note when the item is:
- Unique (gold name) — ~100 items are valuable, ~270 are confirmed trash. Impossible to know without checking.
- Set (green name) — some pieces are worth HRs (Tal Rasha’s armor/amulet/belt, IK Soul Cage), most are worthless.
- Magic (blue name) of these base types:
- Charms (GC, SC, LC) — affix combo is everything
- Jewels — ED+IAS or all res+IAS = top tier, rest is trash
- Class-specific items (Barb helms, Druid pelts, Sorc orbs, Assassin claws, Amazon javelins, Paladin scepters, Necro heads) — +skills combo determines value
- Circlets / Tiaras / Diadems — +3 skills + sockets or FCR
- Amulets — +3 class skills prefix or high MF
- Rings — high MF (30%+) or all res + useful suffix
- Shields — Jeweler’s prefix (4os) + Deflecting or other good suffix
- Body armor — Jeweler’s prefix (4os) + life/other suffix
- Gloves — +3 class skills + IAS
DO NOT check this note when the item is:
- White/grey base — value only as runeword base, evaluate by base type/sockets/ethereal
- Rare (yellow) — value by affix combination, different evaluation method entirely
- Runeword — value known by the runeword name itself
- Low-level magic that is obviously not a charm/jewel/circlet/class-specific/jewelry
One-liner rule: If the item has a gold, green, or blue name — check this note. If white or yellow — don’t.
Valuable Magic Items
Charms — Grand Charms (GC)
Skill GCs — prefix determines class skill tree:
- Very High: any skill GC + “of Vita” (41-45 life, area level 88+ only)
- High: skill GC + “of Sustenance” (20-29 life) or “of Balance” (FHR)
- Medium: plain skill GC or + low life (0-19)
Most valuable skill trees (by demand):
- Paladin: Lion Branded (+Combat) — Very High demand
- Sorceress: Sparking (+Lightning), Chilling (+Cold), Burning (+Fire) — all Very High
- Amazon: Harpoonist’s (+Javelin/Spear) — Very High
- Necromancer: Fungal (+Poison/Bone), Graverobber’s (+Summoning) — Very High
- Assassin: Entrapping (+Traps), Shogukusha’s (+Martial Arts, Mosaic builds) — Very High

- Druid: Natural (+Elemental), Spiritual (+Summoning) — High with Vita
Melee GCs:
- Very High: Sharp GC of Vita — 8-10 max damage + 30-45 life
- High: Sharp GC of Sustenance (20-29 life), of Balance (FHR), of Inertia (FRW), of Greed (30-40% GF), of Maiming (12-14 max dmg total)
- Medium: Sharp GC plain or with 0-19 life; Steel GC of Vita (100+ AR + 30-45 life)
Resistance GCs:
- Very High: Shimmering GC of Vita (13-15 all res + 30-45 life), of Sustenance

Circlets
Key rule: +3 skill circlets are valuable mainly with 2 open sockets (“of the Magus” = +20% FCR)
High value: Rose Branded/Priest’s (Paladin), Volcanic/Glacial/Powered (Sorc), Venomous/Golemlord’s/Necromancer’s (Necro), Witch-hunter’s (Sin), Hierophant’s (Druid) — all with “of the Magus”
3 Open Socket Tiaras (Artisan’s):
- Very High: of Speed (30% IAS — Strafe Zon, physical builds)
- High: of the Magus (20% FCR), of Nirvana (20-30 dex/str), of Luck (30-35% MF), of Wealth (70-80% GF)

- Very High: Echoing Assault Helmet — +6 to Battle Orders (pre-buff)

Notable items confirmed as trash (often mistaken as valuable):
- Kinemil’s Awl — unique Giant Sword, Holy Fire only, niche leveling
- All items from Cathan’s, Civerb’s, Cleglaw’s, Isenhart’s, Arcanna’s sets
- Most low-level uniques (Bane Ash, Biggin’s Bonnet, The Dragon Chang, etc.)
- Bloodmoon, Boneslayer Blade, Doombringer, Messerschmidt’s Reaver, Steel Pillar
- All items listed in Maxroll trash tier (~270 items)
Quick Evaluation Rules
Magic items — what makes them valuable:
- Skill GC + life (Vita/Sustenance) = always valuable
- Small charms: all res + life/MF > single res + life > plain
- Max damage + life on any charm = valuable
- Jewels: ED + IAS (Fervor) or all res + IAS = top tier
- “of the Magus” (FCR) on circlets with +3 skills = valuable
- Jeweler’s prefix (4 sockets) on Monarch/Sacred Targe + Deflecting = ultra rare
- +3 class skill amulets: value depends on class demand (Paladin/Sorc highest)
Unique/Set items — quick rules:
- Ethereal on merc weapons (Reaper’s Toll, Titan’s) = price premium
- Sunder charms = always valuable (break immunities)
- Items with -enemy resistance (Griffon’s, Death’s Web, Death’s Fathom) = top tier
- +2 or more all skills on items = always check value
- High DR% items (Crown of Ages, Stormshield, Verdungo’s) = HC/PvP value
- Items with variable MF (War Traveler, Chance Guards, Gheed’s) = value scales with roll
- Set pieces: Tal Rasha’s 3-piece (armor + amulet + belt) = consistent demand
- Full IK set: only if Soul Cage present (rarest piece)
Roll quality matters:
- Perfect/near-perfect rolls can 10x the price
- Low rolls on already niche items = Charsi
- Check: ED%, life, all res, MF%, -enemy res — these stats have wide ranges
