  • Drag healing potions onto merc portrait, or Shift+1/2/3/4
  • Stack Thawing Potions on merc before cold areas (+50 cold res each, stacks duration)
  • Antidote Potions stack poison res the same way

Maxed (in order)

  1. Apocalypse — 20 (main AoE, 2-sec delay, -enemy fire res, can break some immunities)
  2. Flame Wave — 20 (secondary AoE, leaves burning patches, use between Apocalypse cooldowns)
  3. Ring of Fire — 20 (synergy + stun-lock tool, puts enemies in hit recovery)
  4. Demonic Mastery — up to 20 with gear (at 20 points: can summon 3 Demons including Summon Defiler)
  5. Consume — remaining points (buffs fire damage, movement speed, max life, -enemy fire res)
  6. Bind Demon — up to 20 with gear
  7. Blood Oath — remaining points

1 Point

  • Sigil Death — auto-kills enemies at 13% HP, fire explosion. Does NOT scale with player count
  • Sigil Lethargy — slow enemies
  • Blade Warp — teleport (drop after getting Enigma)
  • Levitation Mastery — enables 2H weapon + offhand combo (Warlock unique mechanic)

Fire Immune Solutions (in order of acquisition)

  1. Apocalypse itself has -enemy fire res, can break barely-immune monsters
  2. Consume (Summon Tainted → Consume) — lowers enemy fire res
  3. Bind Demon — bind Hephasto with Conviction aura (farm Hell River of Flame, look for green sickly aura). Persists through difficulties unless it dies or you respec
  4. Flame Rift (sunder charm) — breaks ALL fire immunities. The real solution
  5. Infinity on merc (Conviction aura) — if gear is not an issue

Hephasto Binding (important mechanic)

  • Farm Hephasto the Armorer in River of Flame
  • He spawns with random Aura Enchanted — want Conviction (green sickly visual)
  • Aura level = min(your clvl, demon’s natural level)
  • At clvl 48+: Conviction level 6+ can break 110% fire immunities
  • Ideal: Conviction + Cursed (Amplify Damage) affixes
  • May take many runs to find perfect one — all grant XP/drops anyway
  • Once bound, persists between games and difficulties

Stats

  • Strength — enough for gear
  • Dexterity — 0 (HC: enough for 75% block with Ars Al’Diabolos + Eld)
  • Vitality — everything else
  • Energy — 0 (Maxroll starter: 10-15 points early, before Insight)

Endgame Transition Options

  1. Fire Warlock — this build. Strong AoE, needs Flame Rift for immunities
  2. Echoing Strike Warlock — “by FAR the strongest build” per Maxroll
  3. Abyss Warlock — magic damage, easier Hell progression

Gameplay Loop (Endgame)

  1. Buff: Battle Command ×2 → Battle Orders (from Call to Arms swap)
  2. Summon Tainted → Consume (fire damage buff, -enemy fire res, ~2 min duration)
  3. Summon Defiler (tank + spread damage)
  4. Recast Battle Command
  5. Alternate Apocalypse + Flame Wave to clear
  6. Blade Warp / Teleport between packs
  7. Skip unbreakable fire immunes — “it’s better to move on than bang your head”
